A woman has been imprisoned after she was accused of causing grievous bodily harm with acid to another lady believed to be her husband’s mistress.
Suzanna Fawole, 38, a housewife in Ogun State was detained in the Ife prisons in Osun State after she was arraigned in Magistrates’ court, Modakeke on Monday, June 3.
According to reports, Fawole had believed that Funmilayo Aderibigbe, 35, was having an affair with her husband.
She was said to have threatened the victims through text messages to steer clear of her husband but Aderibigbe reportedly ignored the messages. On May 6, Aderibigbe of Adeboye Street, Ife-Modakeke road was doused in the disfiguring substance.
Tribune Newspapers claim that Fawole confessed to the crime during interrogation, saying she decided to teach the victim a lesson out of frustration and fear of losing her husband to the lady.
The victim was said to be in the habit of visiting Fawole’s matrimonial home to meet her husband and they were suspected of having a relationship.
Fawole also confessed to pounding Aderibigbe before throwing the acid on her.
